In the project the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice is represented by Faculty of Agriculture. The Faculty of Agriculture is one out of eight faculties of the University of South Bohemia.
The Faculty of Agriculture focuses among other on research of agriculture, sustainability and sustainable agriculture, alternative systems of farming including organic farming or food production and quality. The faculty cooperates with many national and foreign educational institutions (exchange of students and teachers, scientific cooperation, etc.).
Faculty departments cover wide scale of scientific topics. Currently, the Faculty of Agriculture has departments of applied chemistry, agroecosystems, biological disciplines, landscape management, plant production and agro-ecology, agricultural machinery and services, animal husbandry, genetics, breeding and nutrition and veterinary disciplines and quality of products. The Faculty of Agriculture offers studies in numerous Bachelor, Master and Doctoral study programmes in full-time and combined form of study.
During last years, among others, faculty solved topic of sustainable cooking and usage of organic products in public kitchens in two international projects (EUS AT CZ - SUKI - Sustainable Kitchen - Possibilities of public kitchens for decreasing of CO2 emissions and EUS AT CZ - UMBESA - Sustainable menu - Realisation of sustainability in public kitchens with usage of regional, seasonal, organic and freshly prepared foods) and knowledge and experiences transfer between science and practice in another two international projects (LdV - LOVEt - Creating a platform for communication between science and practice in organic food system and LdV - LOVEt II - Elaboration of the best practice models of the knowledge transfer from science to practice in the organic farming sector).
